Thanks to a donation from [personal profile] ng_moonmoth, the poem "Everything That You Are Chasing" is now complete.  Calliope and Vagary talk about the pursuit-withdrawal cycle.

[personal profile] dialecticdreamer has posted the next story, "Planning Connections."  Robert Cort sets out to find some local support for the Finn family.

This is an advance announcement for the Tuesday, March 7, 2017 Poetry Fishbowl. This time the theme will be "small yet crucial moments of courage." I'll be soliciting ideas for heroes and heras, villains, warriors, first responders, parents, lovers, the misunderstood, fish out of water, outcasts, abuse survivors, troubled relationships, bodyguards, running in while other people are running out, expecting the unexpected, jumping in front of people, resisting oppression, upstanding, speaking truth to power, facing your demons, punching up, protesting, keeping a lid on it, apologizing, cleaning up the mess, battlefields, bedrooms, classrooms, counseling offices, protest rallies, lairs, alleys, liminal zones, government buildings, playgrounds, self-sacrifice, disruptions, soup care, unusual vulnerabilities, medals, radical transformation, epiphanies, the inescapable, the indestructable, humility, humiliation, garbage can lids, virtues, appreciation, and poetic forms in particular.

I have a linkback poem, "Leaves Upon the Water" (14 verses, standalone).

If you're interested, mark the date on your calendar, and please hold actual prompts until the "Poetry Fishbowl Open" post next week.  (If you're not available that day, or you live in a time zone that makes it hard to reach me, you can leave advance prompts.  I am now.)  Meanwhile, if you want to help with promotion, please feel free to link back here or repost this on your blog.

Today I finished planting the purple asparagus in the forest yard by the street.

The Cornelian cherry dogwood in the forest yard is blooming vigorously.  The first few daffodils under the maple are fully open now.  The miniature Dutch iris in the wagonwheel garden in still blooming, and one of the yellow crocus there is starting to open.

We had a brief thunderstorm last night, and more expected today.

This poem was written outside the regular prompt calls, inspired by the diving incident storyline from [personal profile] dialecticdreamer and a comment from [personal profile] siliconshaman. It also fills the "scientist" square in my 12-1-16 card for the iPod Shuffle Music Bingo fest. This poem has been sponsored by [personal profile] ng_moonmoth. It belongs to the Aquariana thread of the Polychrome Heroics series.
