LiveJournal is malfunctioning again, so I'm posting this here in hopes that it will echo over there.  Due to the service disruption, I can't edit the open epics right now.  I'm frustrated because this should all have been done yesterday.  Sorry for the hassle.  I can't post open epics on Dreamwidth because the editing function is lousy.

Poetry in Microfunding:
"A Hope and a Promise" belongs to Polychrome Heroics.  Aidan and Saraphina discover a new toy.  "The Sharpest Dose of Reality" belongs to Polychrome Heroics: Shiv.  Pain's Gray attempts to take care of Shiv and Shiv continues to freak out over the intimacy.  This has been fully funded, and will be posted whenever LJ lets me edit the post again.  "So Much Worse in Its Consequences" belongs to Polychrome Heroics.  It shows what happens to Cho-Cho Glow after Antimatter and Stalwart Stan dump him at the police station.  It has been fully funded by an audience poll, and the remainder will go to "A Hope and a Promise" by default.  This means there are slots open for new epic poetry, but please hold off on that until LiveJournal is working again.

The weather is moderate and damp.  This week at the birdfeeder I have seen some sparrows and a few mourning doves. I also saw a male cardinal by my office window.

[personal profile] callibr8 shared this news with me:

Mike Briggs (husband of author Patricia Briggs, best known for her urban fantasy series of 'Mercy Thompson' and 'Alpha and Omega' books) died suddenly, this morning. Patty's assistant Ann posted a message on Facebook: "It is with a very heavy heart that I write of the passing of one of the finest men I have ever known. Mike Briggs passed away very early this morning, very unexpectedly. We are all deeply in shock and grieving. Things on the webpage and Facebook will likely be a bit neglected while we sort things out and make all the necessary arrangements.   Mike was simply just an awesome and amazing man; we will miss him every day for the rest of our our lives.  The purple avenger will be doing his good works in heaven; I will strive to live up to the example and high standards that he set."

EDIT 1/27/17:  I have written an elegy for Mike Briggs.  My heart goes out to his family.  I have greatly enjoyed the the novels by Patricia Briggs, especially the Alpha and Omega series.
