ysabetwordsmith: (Schrodinger's Heroes)
[personal profile] ysabetwordsmith
This short story is a piece of fanfic for the apocryphal television show Schrodinger's Heroes, somewhat inspired by recent conversations with my audience regarding the Bechdel test. Begin with Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, and Part 4.

Alex and Ash Decode the Scorecard

Ash dragged a hand through her raven hair. "Well ... I think I've finally figured out what this was all about," she said. "My analysis produced this page." She passed the printout to Alex. Everyone else crowded around to see.

"This was a test?"  Alex said, raising her eyebrows.

"This was an ordinary day at the Teferact," Ash said.

Kay chuckled. "Imagine what we would have scored last month when the Amazons invaded," she said.

"They don't know any men who can make great coffee?" Pat said in a bemused tone.

"I still can't believe someone actually wrote a test for this," Alex said.

"Well, I'm glad we don't live in their  dimension!" Morgan exclaimed.

"Midge, you haven't said anything about this. That's not like you," Alex said. "What do you think?"

Midge reached into her hip pocket. "I think I better call Dusty back. I get a feeling we're gonna need her."
