ysabetwordsmith: (Schrodinger's Heroes)

This short story is a piece of fanfic for the apocryphal television show Schrodinger's Heroes, somewhat inspired by recent conversations with my audience regarding the Bechdel test. Begin with Part 1, Part 2, and Part 3.

Bonus Conversation: Alex, Ash, and Pat in the Control Room

"Have you identified the andervector yet?" asked Ash as she leaned over Alex's display.

"Yes. Whoever is tapping into our dimension, they're coming from the same andervector that brought us the Amazon invasion," said Alex. She tapped a few keys, and a line glowed to life on the screen. "I can't pin it down to a point yet; I still need more data on the shear between the andervector there and the eigenvector here."

"My readings indicate this is more likely an information grab than a physical invasion," Ash said. "They keep hitting my firewalls and going up in smoke."

Alex snickered. "I almost feel sorry for people who try to hack your software, Ash."

"How's it going?" asked Pat as he entered the control room.

"This could take hours," Alex said. She turned to Pat. "Bring us gallons of coffee."

"Yes, ma'am," said Pat. "Gallons of coffee coming right up."

Extra credit for sending a man to get coffee: 10 points
Your total Bechdel score: 129/99.
