ysabetwordsmith: (Schrodinger's Heroes)

Given the canonical ability to interact with other dimensions, the apocryphal television show Schrodinger's Heroes is well situated for crossovers with other fandoms. Below are a few examples.

Dr. Who

"... And Relative Dimensions" -- The TARDIS crashes into the Teferact in this podcast script.

TNT -- This is a series of sentient!Teferact/sentient!TARDIS ficlets. Both of them are asexual, since neither belongs to a species practicing sexual reproduction. They are, however, quite enthusiastically romantic and flip out the first time Ash walks in on them having a heated discussion of quantum physics. Harry Potter

"Hat Trick" -- In this high-drama HP/SH AU fanfic, Alex's parents build the Teferact; Alex and her friends just play with it. One day they go through the Ring and tumble out of the Sorting Hat in Hogwarts ... all of them in pairs. They hastily decide that this world looks like more fun to explore in depth, and conceal how they arrived. So for instance, core!Alex gets sorted into Ravenclaw while stealth-observant!Alex winds up in Slytherin. Upon meeting Harry and friends, core!Alex sneaks off to the library with Hermione while sending core!Chris (who of course is in Gryffindor) off to adventure with Harry. Core!Ash (in Ravenclaw) and stealth-observant!Alex talk ace!Snape into an apprenticeship while cuddly!Ash (in Hufflepuff) works on inter-house relations. Poor Voldemort does not fare well against the addition of quantum physics and chemistry to traditional wizarding combat. (Idea loosely inspired by [personal profile] order_of_chaos.)

"The Serpent and the Raven" -- This is a truly hilarious Harry Potter  AU where several versions of each of the Schrodinger's Heroes   characters show up with no explanation at all. Notably, canon!Alex and stealth-observant!Alex are in Ravenclaw and Slytherin respectively. Canon!Alex, as brilliant and oblivious as in canon, vanishes into the Ravenclaw library for much of the fic, appearing every now and then to break people's brains by not noticing that the combination of magic and advanced physics just doesn't happen and that half the knowledge she's taking for granted is unheard of in the wizarding world. The version of Alex that so often shows up in fandom -- secretly much more observant and fooling everyone by pretending not to be -- acts much the same as her counterpart, and soon has everyone wondering how someone so innocent ended up in a house known for ruthlessness and deception. When she isn't busy breaking the supposed laws of magic and physics, Alex finds this vastly amusing. (Idea courtesy of [personal profile] order_of_chaos.)

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy

"All Thumbs" -- Alex appears in this story as a superintelligent shade of the color blue, berating the main characters for causing unfortunate eddies in the space-time continuum due to the destruction of the Earth to make way for a galactic superhighway. Apparently someone faked the environmental report. (Idea courtesy of [personal profile] order_of_chaos.)
