Terramagne-America has a much wider selection of drinks aimed at adults than just alcoholic ones. Their mixed drinks get really interesting. This batch relies on some ingredients -- especially the Aromantic Bitters -- that tend to produce blue to purple drinks.

Aromantic Bitters is a brand that uses lavender, ginger root, grapefruit peel, gentian root, red clover, cornflower, dame's rocket, angelica, sage flowers, purple pansies, lilac, purple violet, chicory flowers, chicory root, chasteberry, hops, sweet marjoram, white coriander, and licorice. It is often blended into drinks with lavender-flavored or purple-colored beverages such as Sweet Blossom Lavender Soda, Lavender Dry Soda, and Purple Haze. Alcoholic ones include Hypnotiq Harmonie, Sizzurp Purple Punch Liqueur, and Van Gogh Acai Blueberry Vodka. Monin Lavender Syrup and Monin Violet Syrup are popular additions. Aromantic Bitters clash notably with grape flavor, and in fact, it says right on the bottle "not recommended for mixing with grape." The logo is a purple Ace of Spades.

Maiden Aunt is a mocktail made with Lavender Dry Soda, cherry juice, cranberry juice, and a dash of Aromanic Bitters. The garnish is a sprig of sweet marjoram. It's popular with asexuals and people who aren't looking for a hookup, because lavender tends to quash sexual urges.

Love the idea of Aromantic Bitters -- that's one of those things that really ought to exist.

I honestly thought aromantic bitters was a typo at first...! And then I clicked. :)

I'll be avoiding the blueberry/vanilla combination (very bad experience with vanilla yogurt topped with fakey blueberry flakes of some sort as a child, and to this day the idea makes me shudder), but the rest appeal.

I wonder... Lilac is evidently used in ice cream every now and again. Could there be a lilac drink that goes blue-purple accordingly?

This is a delicious post! I have enjoyed lavender lemonade, I'd love to try some of these fancier ones. :) Have you tried any of them?
