This series of closeup acrylic paintings is entitled "Man Cunt," by and about a transgender man and his testosterone-improved genitalia.  Utterly gorgeous, incredibly hawt, and of course NSFW.

Because this artist was brave enough to show her genitals, I feel like the mystery surrounding transgenders is less of a mystery to me now. I think, at the back of my mind, I wondered if there was any difference. But how do you ask without it seeming like prurient interest?

I think you mean his genitals (?) ... If "transgender man" means someone born with female morphology, who changes to male ... I have to puzzle that through, sometimes.

You're right. You do have to look at the terminology to make sure you use the correct pronoun. Oh well, it'll get familiar with time. So, I meant to say, his genitals.

Indeed! And isn't it glorious that the arc of the moral universe is at the point in its curve that we will get more familiar with human diversity, instead of continuing to pretend it isn't there?

In the meantime, what struck me about these pictures is the evidence they provide for what I've read about the development of our genitals in utero: that the penis and vulva are really the same organ, but just with a few different 'origami folds' between them (We all have vulva-like structures in the womb until something like the fourth (?) month of pregnancy, when the XY genes signal the production of androgen and testosterone). Apparently, there's no real cut off date for that process to take place. :-)

Which makes the furore over those differences even more ridiculous... >_>

*nod*

And maybe, in the not too distant future, people will look back on transphobia with the same befuddled horror as we have when contemplating how left-handed children were actively punished for their difference.

A trans guy friend on here has been posting recently about having 'bottom' surgery- the sheer complexity makes me realise how comparatively easy we have it!
